My fellow Montanans, this is a sobering reminder that we live in a state that is loaded with nuclear weapons. To be precise, Montana hosts 150 nuclear missile silos, all presently housing LGM-30G Minuteman 3 Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). All are controlled out of Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, MT. Beginning in 2030, each of these ICBMs and the infrastructure supporting them will be replaced by a new generation of LGM-35A Sentinel nuclear missiles, each of these carrying an approximate yield of 300 kilotons (300,000 tons) of TNT (“dynamite”). These ICBMs are about 20 times more powerful than the 15 kiloton bombs that were dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima Japan on August 6, 1945. Those bombs decimated both of those cities and killed an estimated 250,000 innocent Japanese civilians.
This Sentinel program is being spearheaded by U.S. military defense contractor Northrop Grumman, and the program’s estimated cost will be approximately $140 billion dollars. This figure comprises only a portion of the U.S. DoD’s plan to upgrade its entire nuclear weapons arsenal at an estimated cost of around $1.3 TRILLION dollars.

Despite decades of credible military testimony and documented incidents, the U.S. government and Department of Defense have never officially confirmed these nuclear-UAP encounters to the public. This silence raises profound ethical questions about transparency, democratic governance, and the public’s right to know about events that could affect national and global security.
The Scale of Official Silence
The scope of what remains officially unacknowledged is staggering. The government has never publicly confirmed:
- How many times UAPs have interfered with nuclear weapons systems
- Whether these incidents represent a pattern or isolated events
- How the Pentagon interprets these encounters
- What defensive measures, if any, have been implemented in response
- Whether similar incidents continue to occur at nuclear facilities today
This information vacuum exists despite testimonies from over 120 former military personnel and decades of documented encounters across multiple nuclear installations worldwide.
Arguments for Continued Classification
Defenders of government secrecy often cite several justifications:
National Security Concerns: Revealing details about nuclear weapons vulnerability: UFOs and Nuclear Weapons: A Pattern of Encounters at America’s Most Sensitive Sites
Introduction
For over seven decades, an intriguing and concerning pattern has emerged from the most classified corners of America’s nuclear weapons program. From the Manhattan Project’s early development sites to modern missile silos and nuclear naval fleets, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) have repeatedly appeared near the nation’s most sensitive nuclear facilities. What makes these encounters particularly significant is not just their frequency, but the credible witnesses reporting them—highly trained military personnel with top-secret clearances who were responsible for safeguarding humanity’s most destructive weapons.
The Historical Pattern: From Los Alamos to Modern Missile Silos
The connection between UFOs and nuclear weapons appears to date back to the very beginning of the atomic age. All of the nuclear facilities—Los Alamos, Livermore, Sandia, Savannah River—all had dramatic incidents where these unknown craft appeared over the facilities and nobody knew where they were from or what they were doing there, according to investigative journalist George Knapp, who has studied the UAP-nuclear connection for more than 30 years.
The pattern extends far beyond individual facilities. At the facilities where we were first designing and building nuclear weapons…at the places where we were processing the fuel…at the facilities where we were testing the weapons…at the bases where we deployed those weapons, on the ships…the nuclear submarines… All those places, all the people working there have seen these things, Knapp explains.
This isn’t a modern phenomenon. It goes back to the 1930s when the science and research was being done to understand fission. But then it really heats up in the 1940s, in particular, right after the detonation of the two atomic bombs in Japan in 1945, according to researcher Julie Andresen, who analyzed declassified reports from agencies like the FBI and CIA.
(RKO note: linked below is a very recent study demonstrating a strong statistical correlation between “transients” (UFOs/UAP) and above-ground nuclear weapons testing (pre-Sputnik) published by astronomers Stephen Bruehl and Beatrice Villaroel. Their data supports a UFO/UAP -nuclear weapons nexus):
Here is a link to a Tweet that emphasizes just how strong the statistical significance of this research is and what it means:
The Malmstrom Air Force Base Incident: March 1967
Perhaps no single incident better illustrates the UFO-nuclear weapons connection than the events at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana on March 24, 1967. This case stands out not only for its dramatic nature but also for the credibility of its primary witness: Captain Robert Salas, then a first lieutenant serving as a deputy missile combat crew commander.
The Night Everything Changed
He was stationed 60 feet underground at the Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana in March 1967, monitoring the launch control center for 10 nuclear missiles when he received a call from a guard above ground. What started as routine reports of strange lights in the sky quickly escalated into something unprecedented.
“Well, in 1967, I was a missile launch officer at Malmstrom AF Base, Montana. But we had control of 10 nuclear missiles, and sometime in the evening, I got the first phone call from my security guard, and he said they’d seen some strange lights in the sky. Making no noise, flying very fast, stopping on a dime, reversing course, making 90-degree turns. Noiseless, Salas recounted in a recent podcast interview.
The situation rapidly intensified. He calls back about five minutes later and this time he’s screaming into the phone. The guard reported a large glowing, pulsating red oval-shaped object hovering over the front gate.”
The Nuclear Shutdown
What happened next was unprecedented in nuclear weapons history. As Salas alerted his commander, alarms went off showing nearly all 10 missiles shown in the control room had been disabled. “They were probably down for about 24 hours, I estimate. After my Commander spoke to the command post, he turned to me and said, “The same thing happened at another site”.”
Salas later learned that it was the ECHO Flight incident, which happened eight days earlier. This meant that over an eight-day period, UAPs had allegedly interfered with 20 Minuteman ICBMs across multiple sites.
Official Silence and Recent Disclosure
For decades, Salas was bound by a non-disclosure agreement that prevented him from discussing the incident. He revealed that he was bound by a non-disclosure agreement that restricted him from discussing the classified incident for years. However, in a significant development, Robert Bob Salas testified before this group [AARO] in February 2023. Although the incident occurred in 1967, it was the first time Mr. Salas was able to officially go on record with any authoritative branch of the Department of Defense/Pentagon.
Other Significant Nuclear-UAP Incidents
Rendlesham Forest: Britain’s Roswell
In December 1980, one of the most well-documented UAP incidents occurred near RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk, England. Deputy Base Commander Colonel Charles Halt investigated reports of strange lights in nearby Rendlesham Forest. Halt found indentations in the ground, broken branches, and low-level background radiation. He and his team also witnessed various lights moving silently in the sky, of one which was “shedding something like molten metal.” Another shined a beam of light down towards them.
USS Theodore Roosevelt Encounters
The nuclear connection extends to America’s naval forces as well. F-18 fighter pilots from the nuclear-powered USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group saw UAPs almost daily for several months between the summer of 2014 and the spring of 2015 while executing training maneuvers along the Eastern seaboard between Virginia and Florida.
Global Nuclear Disasters and UAP Activity
The pattern isn’t limited to military installations. One of the clearest examples of these sorts of activities around nuclear facilities was the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Ukraine. “There was a lot of UFO activity reported there also. At the height of the fire in Chernobyl, the reading was 3000 milliroentgens, which is a unit of ionizing radiation. And right at the height of the fire, many people observed a UFO come to the site.
Similarly, following the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan, local witnesses reported numerous UAP sightings. Buddhist monk Genyu Sokyu said “The UFO’s came after the explosion. There were so many of them. I was shocked”, and theorized that “Radioactive energy was leaking everywhere. I believe the UFOs came to readjust the flood of radioactive energy in order to save us”.
The Scale of Military Testimony
The Malmstrom incident is far from an isolated case. UFO researcher Robert Hastings of Albuquerque, N.M., who organized the National Press Club briefing, said more than 120 former service members had told him they’d seen unidentified flying objects near nuclear weapon storage and testing grounds.
These aren’t casual observers but highly trained military personnel with the highest security clearances. Robert Jamison, a retired USAF nuclear missile targeting officer, told of several occasions having to go out and “re-start” missiles that had been deactivated after UFOs were sighted nearby.
Official Response and Government Investigation
For decades, military personnel who reported these incidents faced ridicule and career consequences. Several of the ex-service members speaking Monday said when they’d brought their concern of such appearances to superiors, they’d been told it was “top secret” or that it “didn’t happen”.
However, attitudes have shifted dramatically in recent years. The Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) is now actively investigating these historical cases. The Daily Mail says it’s seen an email showing that AARO staff contacted former Air Force ICBM launch officer Robert Salas to get information about the encounter with an orange flying disc that switched off 10 warheads at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, in 1967.
Theories and Implications
The Message Theory
When asked about the meaning behind these encounters, Salas offered a provocative interpretation. When asked what he believed the extraterrestrial visitors were trying to communicate, he interpreted it as a critique of nuclear armaments: “To me, that says they were sending us a message about nuclear weapons: don’t do this!”
This aligns with researcher Robert Hastings’ assessment that the UAP presence represents “a sign to Washington and Moscow that we are playing with fire” regarding nuclear weapons.
Technical Capabilities Demonstrated
What makes these incidents particularly concerning from a national security perspective is the apparent technological sophistication demonstrated. The UAPs consistently showed abilities to:
- Disable nuclear weapons systems without causing permanent damage
- Penetrate the most secure airspace in the world
- Operate silently and perform impossible maneuvers
- Demonstrate apparent knowledge of weapons systems and locations
Despite the UFO shutting down the missiles, no damage occurred: “No equipment was fried”, suggesting precise technological control rather than random interference.
The Roswell Connection
The nuclear-UAP connection gains additional significance when considering the Roswell incident in its proper historical context. At the time of the Roswell Incident, the nation’s only nuclear strike force was based at the Roswell Army Airfield—a closely held secret. This connection between the most famous UFO incident in history and America’s nuclear weapons program is rarely mentioned but adds another layer to the overall pattern.
Current Status and Ongoing Investigation
The UAP-nuclear weapons connection remains an active area of investigation. The government is supposedly investigating reports of UFOs somehow deactivating nuclear warheads, marking a significant shift from decades of official denial and ridicule.
Numerous UAP-related missile shutdowns have now been publicly acknowledged by former U.S. Senator Harry Reid (deceased), whose efforts resulted in creation of the DOD UAP investigations group known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).
The Ethics of Secrecy: A Public Right to Know?
Whether these encounters represent monitoring by an unknown intelligence, warnings about nuclear weapons, or something else entirely, they raise fundamental questions about national security, the nature of these phenomena, and humanity’s relationship with nuclear technology.
The fact that highly trained military personnel with top-secret clearances who were responsible for safeguarding humanity’s most destructive weapons continue to come forward with these accounts suggests that whatever is behind these incidents possesses capabilities that far exceed current human technology and demonstrates a particular interest in our nuclear capabilities.
As government transparency on UAPs continues to evolve, the nuclear connection may prove to be the key to understanding not just what these phenomena are, but why they’re here.
This article is based on declassified documents, military witness testimony, and official government reports. The incidents described have been corroborated by multiple independent witnesses and are the subject of ongoing official investigation.
(This ends claude.ai’s essay.)
So, here’s the most important question of our time. Do we continue down this path toward our own nuclear destruction? Or, do we follow their advice and change our course?
In addition to the research of Robert Hastings and the documented whistleblower testimonies from many credible USAF officers who were at the nuclear weapons installations when numerous UFOs vs. nuclear weapons shutdowns have occurred, we now have Dr. Villaroel’s research that statistically demonstrates an interest of “transients” (UFO’s/UAP) in nuclear weapons from the mid-1940s onward.
We can be certain there are non-human, intelligent (NHI) beings behind the wheel of UFOs.
If you disagree with this statement, then you are choosing to ignore decades of UFO data while also refusing to listen to credible, high-ranking U.S. military officers, U.S. government officials, and DoD contractors who would know more than you do about this. To wit, these include: Jesse Marcel, Sr., Dr. Jesse Marcel, Jr., Brig. General Arthur Exon, Col. Phillip Corso, Dan Burisch, Bob Lazar, Richard Doty, David Adair, Christopher Mellon, Luis Elizondo, Dr. Karl Nell, Jim Semivan, Cdr. David Fravor, Dr. James Lacatski, Senator Harry Reid, Lt. Cdr. Alex Dietrich, Lt. Ryan Graves, CPO Kevin Day, Col. David Grusch, Capt. Robert Salas, Lt. James Penniston, Lt. Jim Burroughs, Charles Hall, Col. Charles Halt, Capt. David Schindele, Lt. Mario Woods, Dr. Edgar Mitchell, Dr. Nat Kobitz, Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, Cdr. Jay Stratton, Dan Sherman, Matthew Brown, Bill Uhouse, Jonathan Weygandt, Dr. Gregory Rogers, Jake Barber, Michael Herrera, Dr. Haim Eshed (Israel), and Hon. Paul Hellyer (Canada). Each of these 40 individuals has publicly stated their certain knowledge that, in so many words, “we are not alone”. I take them at their word. There are simply too many now to rightfully ignore.
We have all been victims of a decades-long UFO cover up. You can choose to continue to be a victim of this counterintelligence program. I choose not to be.
Good advice?
They (NHI) appear to be offering us this good advice – ditch the nuclear weapons! On several occasions, such as the Ariel School incident of 1994, they have warned contactees about a future global calamity. What they describe will happen fits with a global nuclear catastrophe. Currently, international conflicts are escalating. The most serious of these conflicts involves nations that continue to brandish nuclear weapons – the U.S., Russia, China, Israel, Pakistan, N.Korea, and India. I believe that we, this planet, and all of its species are living on borrowed time.
Even General Colin Powell publicly stated that nuclear weapons are “useless”. My vote is that we immediately enact an enforceable, worldwide ban of any and all nuclear weapons. What is your take on this? Do we ignore the NHI’s advice and “stay the course”, or do we try to move toward a world without any nuclear weapons of mass destruction? This is the most important question of our time.
